The latest updates on mobile and desktop introduce new features that enhance the search and download experience.
Google Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser, has some new updates that enhance how users can access information on it. These updates enhance the search and download experience.
One of the major changes is that Chrome now displays trending searches on the address bar on Android. This feature will also be available for iOS users “later this year.” Moreover, Chrome will show relevant search suggestions on the address bar on both Android and iOS for “eligible sites.” For example, if you are reading an article about Japan and click on the address bar, you will see a new section called “Related to this page” with suggestions for other searches like local restaurants or tourist attractions in Japan.
Another improvement is for Android’s Touch to Search, which activates when you press and hold on text. This feature now lets you find related searches as well. Suppose you are reading an article and you encounter a topic you want to learn more about. Using Touch to Search, you will now see a carousel of related searches so you can quickly find more information about it.
Finally, on mobile, Chrome has increased the number of search suggestions from 6 to 10 to help you refine your searches better.
On the other hand, on desktop, Google has introduced a redesigned downloads experience for macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS that makes it easier to interact with your recently downloaded files.
The new download tray is located at the top right of the Chrome address bar. It features an animated ring that shows the download progress and opens briefly when the download is complete before automatically disappearing for uninterrupted browsing.
